The CLEARING HOUSE project gathers 26 partners in Europe and China, and will provide evidence and tools that facilitate the mobilisation of the full potential of urban forest as nature-based solutions (UF-NBS) for rehabilitating, reconnecting and restoring urban ecosystems.

EUROPEAN FOREST INSTITUTE (EFI)

Project Coordinator

The European Forest Institute (EFI) is a pan-European international organisation. It has 28 Member Countries, and 110-member organisations from 37 different countries working in diverse research fields. EFI provides forest-related knowledge around three interconnected and interdisciplinary themes: bioeconomy, resilience and governance.

Research Institute of Forestry – Chinese Academy of Forestry (CAF-RIF)

Project Coordinator

The Research Institute of Forestry Chinese Academy of Forestry (CAF-RIF), founded in 1953, is the earliest forestry research institute in China. Its breadth of research includes urban forestry, forest ecosystem, forestry ecological engineering, forest conservation and management.

Fundacja Sendzimira (TSF)

Zhejiang University (ZJU) is an elite C9 League university in China. Among a range of research undertakings, one of the focused areas is across-colleges and -institute collaborative efforts monitor, model and assess ecological and environmental processes in coastal zones, ecological restoration, and integrated coastal zone management, including coastal urban systems.

Shenzhen Fairy Lake Botanical Garden (SZFLBG)

The missions of SZFLBG are to preserve tropical and subtropical plants ex-situ, provide suggestions & strategies on urban greening and landscape, and deliver innovative environmental education programmes for citizens and youth.
It aims to provide visitors exceptional service and picturesque landscapes in the Garden.

Institut Bruxellois pour la Gestion de l Environnement – Brussels Instituut voor Milieubeheer (IBGE)

BOS+ Vlaanderen is an environmental NGO focusing on forests and trees. This NGO is working in the urbanised Flemish region in northern Belgium on forest conservation, afforestation, and multifunctional use and management of forests and trees.

Vlaams-Brabant (Vlaams-Brabant)

Horizon + is an intense partnership between the province of Vlaams-Brabant, the Flemish government, Regional Landscape Dijleland and the municipalities of Overijse, Hoeilaart, Sint-Genesius-Rode and Tervuren. These subsidising partners will work intensively together to improve connectivity with the Sonian Forest.

The University of Hong Kong – Shenzhen Institute of Research and Innovation ( HKU)
